Damien Jurado at St George's Bristol
See event details

A gig held at St George's Bristol on Sunday 23rd February. The event starts at 20:00.

Damien Jurado’s discography is filled with songs written as miniature movies, cinematic vignettes that capture people, the places they are from, and where they are going.

His latest album ‘In The Shape of A Storm’ was recorded over two hours one California afternoon, featuring Jurado’s sparsest arrangements yet. There’s only Jurado’s voice, acoustic guitar, and occasional accompaniment from Josh Gordon, playing a high-strung guitar tuned Nashville style, rendering its sound spooky and celestial. This “intimate affirmation of Jurado’s current brilliance” (MOJO) offers a vulnerable insight into a songwriter who continues to surprise with poetic precision and instrumental originality.
