Join us for immersive sonic improvised journeys by three Master Musicians inspired by the abstract paintings of Mark Rothko in the Tate Modern. Come as contemplators (bring cushions and blankets) absorbing yourselves with us in our deep searching for healing and meaning through dissonance and resolution, pain to peace.
Timothy Funnell is a pianist trained in contemporary jazz at the Hanze Hogeschool on the acclaimed 'New York comes to Groningen' Programme in The Netherlands. He is known for deeply adventurous playing, striving and reaching Coltranean ecstatic heights. He plays with BEJE supporting the Ney Master Faris Ishaq amongst other projects and explores mysticism and philosophy. https://timmyfunnell.com
Daphna Sadeh is a dynamic double bass maestro, equally at home in the classical world as in jazz. Her band Eastern Strings explores all cultural music forms emerging from her roots which are Jewish-Russian-Middle Eastern.
