The Wanted 18 - Film and discussion at St Werburghs Community Centre
Headfirst Editor's Pick

"Bristol Apartheid Free Zone and Bristol Palestine Film Fest unite for the first of many screenings and discussions to get you warmed up for this year’s full festival. The Wanted 18 tells the inspiring, somewhat surreal tale of the cows on Israel’s kill list, with stop motion animation and enlightening perspectives from the First Intifada. A great occasion to discuss dairy rights, learn about boycotting, and buy some baked fundraising goods."

Join the Bristol Apartheid-Free Zone on 30th May at St Werburghs Community Centre for our very first film and discussion evening!

Bristol Apartheid-Free Zone has teamed up with Bristol Palestine Film Festival, and over the coming months we’ll be delivering a series of film screenings in community venues across Bristol. To start the series off we will be showing The Wanted 18 (52 mins, dir. Amer Shomali and Paul Cowan) an animated documentary blending real interviews, archive footage and stop-motion animation, about the efforts of Palestinians in Beit Sahour to start a small local dairy industry during the First Intifada.

After the film we will have a collective discussion inspired by the film’s themes of boycotting and community organising. There will be a bake sale to raise money for students from Gaza, who are currently studying at the University of Bristol, and for their families back home.

Bring your friends, family and neighbours!
