A film screening and panel discussion by arts collective UNCOOKED GOODS
to celebrate the joyous determination of young British black artists within Bristol.

UNCOOKED GOODS event will consist of a panel discussion with Will Taylor a Creative Producer / Researcher and platforming underrepresented narratives is a focal part of his work. Currently co-leading Rising Arts Agency Transforming Leadership Funded Programme “BE IT” alongside Roseanna Dias, Will’s focus has moved to critically disrupting ideas of leadership within society. With experience in managing projects centred around accessibility, equity and equality, Will’s creative work speaks to representation and community.

Jade Ayino a multidisciplinary artist currently living it large in Bristol. Their work exploring themes of fragility within social constructs, autonomy in femininity, and the introspectiveness of intersectionality. As an artist, the aim within their work is to blur , bend and bounce the boundaries between creative disciplines.

PERFORMANCES BY

Melotone - a psych-soul band from the Black Country, more interested in texture and ambience than ego. They draw inspiration from '60s psychedelia, namely the jazz-infused Tropicalia movement, with lulling guitar play and hypnotic vocals that float freely into Portuguese.

To end with a film screening from
Jade Ayino - showing a private preview of their first film ever made ‘Carbon Copy’
a short film inspired by a collection of self-written poems that directly comment on Jade Ayino’s experiences growing up as a Black womxn within modern Britain. in partnership with BBC Arts New Creatives scheme

Mikael Techane - ‘Boys Like us’ - Charting his coming-of-age growth and awareness surrounding his identity, Mikael has created both an affecting acknowledgement of the past and a documentation of some of the present issues facing black people in the U.K.

Josiah Finegans- ‘Flow’ - an audio-visual extravaganza collaboration with producer Echosphere. Following concept and processes of flow in nature projected throughout abstract forms
