Strange Brew presents
Jembaa Groove LIVE
+ MĀDŁY
Sat 10th May 25
7pm - 10pm

Jembaa Groove is a dynamic band taking inspiration from Highlife, Jazz and Soul. Founded in late 2020 by bass player and composer Yannick Nolting and singer-percussionist Eric Owusu.

They'll be bringing their soulful, heart-warming sound and magnetic stage presence to Strange Brew off the back of their revered, stunning second album. A huge recommendation if you dig: K.O.G, Jasmine Myra, Nubiyan Twist, Ezra Collective, Kokoroko, Sons of Kemet, Yazmin Lacey etc.

Taking inspiration from Highlife, Jazz and Soul, this 7-piece live band combines the freshest sounds from Berlin’s underground music scene combined with traditional West African sounds from Ghana and Mali. @jembaagroove 's music, powered by deep, conga-led rhythms and warm horn riffs, has been described as “an invitation to daydream and let go.”

With support from MĀDŁY, the Parisian-born, Bristol-based singer, MC and poet known for her dynamic sets fusing hip hop, neo-soul and afro-jazz, this is set to be an evening of transportive joy.

Entry requirements: 14+, any under 18s accompanied by 21+ adult 1:1 ratio
