Fresh from the release of the Pulse Archive compiliation on Livity Sound Peverelist presents Pulse LIVE at Strange Brew!
Over a two-year span Peverelist has delivered a run of EPs that has become colloquially known as the Pulse series.
Starting in 2023 from his enduring, open-ended studio approach, Pev made the first Pulse EP and
developed a cohesive but flexible run of tracks that naturally hung together as a complete body of
work encompassing five EPs and now bundled together as Pulse Archive.
Since the early Punch Drunk days myriad influences have always fed into Peverelist's unique strain of soundsystem music, but the Pulse series has brought different dimensions of his musical interests into sharp relief. As well as angular explorations around 140 there is space for house-tempo grooves guided by Chicago and Yorkshire pioneers and deft swerves into outright jungle territory.
Throughout these more defined variations in tempo and rhythm, Pev's sound has held true. Strident, crystal-clear melodic hooks with a machine soul lilt have given the Pulse tracks a particularly uplifting, energising dimension — a quality that has tracked throughout his output to date. Maintaining the rude pressure of sub bass and dubwise spatial science, Pev's brand of rave joy comes from a place of understated, meditative poise, now neatly summed up as a stellar run of 20 tracks gathered under one banner – Pulse Archive - the latest chapter in his singular path through the dance.
South London's Joe Milli is making his Strange Brew debut for us too having dropped the Deep Forest EP on Livity Sound in September to huge acclaim.
Joe is a staple in the South London club scene; a former
Rinse FM & Balamii resident with a current show on SWU
FM. Joe's sound is based upon Techno & UK Funky through
and through. His radio shows and DJ sets reflect an
eclectic taste, branching confidently from these genres
and beyond.
