A
gig
held at Strange Brew
on Sunday 1st March. The event starts at 19:00.
Haze is a chillout event exploring the harmony between sound and the wider environment. Rooted in the idea that “music is liquid architecture, architecture is frozen music” (Goethe), Haze invites audiences into an immersive space where sound, visuals and the senses gently merge into one another. Inspired by synaesthesia, the event is designed as a space for deep listening, encouraging audiences to experience sound beyond being purely audible.
This is achieved through a curated mix of AV, massage, scent and movement. This is a sit on the floor gig.

Live
-Ishq
Ishq is the project of Cornish composer and synthesist Matt Hillier. One of the UK’s most prolific electronic composers, Ishq has released over 50 albums since 1997 and has collaborated with many leading figures in ambient music. His work spans ambient, experimental electronica and experimental techno, with a focus on the hidden and mysterious aspects of existence. Ishq’s music paints vast, internal landscapes that invite the listener into states of contemplation, imagination and emotional depth.
-Glassfactory + Shivani Sen
The evening will open with a special improvised collaboration between Glassfactory and Shivani Sen. The first section moves through an ambient electronica interpretation of Raag Yaman, combining modern electronic production techniques with Indian classical music, with vocals from Shivani. From there, the set gradually dissolves into an open-ended granular improvisation, where fragments of melody, texture and rhythm are continuously transformed through generative processes. As the music drifts away from raga form, it unfolds into a slowly shifting electronic landscape shaped in real time.
Glassfactory works with sound as a mutable substance: stretching, eroding and reassembling it through improvisational processes. His practice moves through granular textures, resonant fragments and generative drift, treating sound less as material to be owned than as something temporarily inhabited.
Born and raised in New Delhi, India, Shivani Sen has trained in Hindustani classical music for over twenty years and currently focuses on vilambit khyal — a slow, meditative classical form that evokes peace and introspection through melodic improvisation.
Dance
-Millie Vigars
Through improvisation, Millie celebrates the beauty of imperfection, crafting raw, authentic moments in an art form renowned for its precision. At 18, she joined the Welsh National Ballet as a pre-professional, where she developed a passion for neoclassical ballet that now shapes her movement language. At Haze, she will perform improvised dancing to the music- making the sounds tangible through movement.
Visuals
-PNEUMATEK
PNEUMATEK is an artistic practice by AJ, exploring the liminal space between technology and the soul. The audio reactive visuals will act as a living architecture for the music, expanding the sonic experience into a shared, multisensory environment.
Massage
-Aviva
Combining massage with immersive sound, Aviva uses flowing and intuitive movement with deep tissue work, helping to remove tension and send you into a rejuvenated and relaxed state.
Art
-Art supplies and a communal art wall for attendees to draw along to the music
