"Seated triple bill of restorative ambient meditations & IDM squiggles. Inside: Ana Roxanne’s dreamy Grouper-esque whispers ride waves of sacred drone; JC Leisure’s plunderphonic dream-pop excavated from old rave cassette; Sofheso’s next-step evolution of the great AFX/Autechre breakbeat-glitch experiment.

held at Strange Brew
on Wednesday 5th October. The event starts at 19:30.
Strange Brew and Schwet join forces again, this time delving into the radiant slowness of Ana Roxane and experimentations of London's First Terrace Records - SEATED SHOW!
Ana Roxanne is a New York based musician working at the interzone of electric meditation, dream pop, and ambient songcraft. Her self-titled EP was later reissued by Leaving Records before signing with Kranky for her official full-length debut, 2020’s Because Of A Flower, which was widely lauded in end-of-year lists from the likes of Resident Advisor, Pitchfork and Boomkat. Her inspirations span the secular (R&B divas of 1980’s and 90’s) and the spiritual (Catholic choral traditions in which she was raised), synthesized into a uniquely intuitive sonic language, equal parts atmospheric and ancient, healing and hermetic.
First Terrace Records is an independent record label founded in 2016 by Alex Ives & Joe Summers, releasing music covering ambient, electronica, experimental, drone, jazz, modern composition & sound art.
Sofheso (First Terrace Records)
First run of shows outside of Japan, mind-altering, earth shattering rhythmic experiments & expressions. “Complex yet intuitive, architectural yet funky, minimal yet full of wonder… ARCHIVE finds forms of beauty where others might see only ugliness” - THE WIRE
"A staggering introduction to a mysterious talent. Sofheso has the makings of Japan’s own Aphex Twin." - The Quietus
FFO: Autechre, Pan Sonic, Muqata'a, Zuli, Lanark Artefax, Giuseppe Ielasi, Youth Records.
JC Leisure (Warm Winters ltd)
JC Leisure is an ambient experimenter from Liverpool. The structure of the studio is symbol-optic. The viewer is invited to gaze onto and through the episode loop of the syndicated transcription occurring in prime-time. This is a reflexive mesh, objects can be abstracted, a complex adaptive sitcom.
