RAHEEL KHAN:

DJing barely scratches the surface of Raheel’s sprawling and evolving projects in the music and arts scene. Across the UK, his visions and creations as a sound artist and musician, exploring “notions of heritage, society and the inertia of cultural progression”, range from live performances to curating and contributing to exhibitions, including a first solo exhibition in London last year, to compositions for short films and intricately crafted radio shows on the likes of NTS and the BBC. You can read more about his Counterpoints Arts residency here: https://counterpointsarts.org.uk/artist/raheel-khan/ or see his interview for Factory International in the links.

Alongside b2b partner Rizmi, he blew the roof off Three Wheel Drive last summer with a rollercoaster of tunes, full of surprises, not bound by genre or tempo restrictions, but still with intangibly consistent sound and energy. On top of that, pulling out a couple of ETN classics convinced us we had to bring them to Bristol, so we’re very excited to have Raheel close out the party!

ESCALATOR TO NOWHERE: Yellow, Green and Red Power Rangers activating. Bangers only. Wrong USB ejection incoming.

SLIPPERY CRISPS: Noods Radio resident, Aussie-import turned local hero, potato enthusiast. Italo heaters and sexy jams for days. A very smooth operator behind the decks. You’re in safe, salty hands.

JAZ: Member of the illustrious Umbilical Chords posse, resident on RTM.fm, northerner. Jaz’s range spans across psych, soul, post-punk, new wave, avant-pop and beyond into the electronic frontier. She weaves magic!

EKSISH: Big-shot DJ and SWU resident Eksish fresh from holy matrimony riding into town to lay down some afternoon house grooves, as has been tradition at Cameluaut for centuries. Shake your bum for the honeymoon hun.

AKAMAI: No stranger to a colourful shirt, Akamai will be the spinning soulful, hip-hoppy goodness in the sun!

JAFRA's Shawarma Shop:

A very special one-off return for JAFRA, turning their hand to a favourite middle-eastern street staple: shawarma, slow-rotating over coal and smoke, spiced and packed with freshness in the JAFRA way, wrapped up or served over rice. Meat and vegan options catered for.

Tapestry by PROPS:

The festivities will be hosted and lubricated by Tapestry Brewery in Totterdown, which is run by Bristol charity PROPS, whose mission is to give purposeful and rewarding work opportunities for adults with learning disabilities. They run the taproom, two cafes, a workshop, and a cycle club and repair shop, all giving opportunities for people with disabilities to work, learn new skills and crafts and socialise. A great cause and lovely people! You can read about their beers and the other PROPS ventures here: https://www.tapestrybrewery.com/

Dress code:

Lastly, the theme is a bit of fun, in no way compulsory and you can come however you feel comfortable. If you do want to dress for the occasion, please be respectful when celebrating other cultures. For luau-related attire we recommend anything flowery and colourful to celebrate the Spring Bank Holiday, and avoid cultural costumes like hula skirts, spiritual symbols like tiki masks or colonial myths like coconut bras.

2pm-midnight! See you there!
