Counting Blessings Jazz Bruk Social at The Arc
PWYC

A gig on Friday 13th February. The event starts at 20:00.

Over the 3 years Counting Blessings has been happening, one beautiful thing about it is this community that is growing up, within Counting Blessings and through connections beyond: The Counting Blessings social event will I hope be a place to strengthen and broaden that community - an evening of sharing music, listening to music, chatting about music and making connections with like-minded good music-loving people. 8pm-9pm - Screening of the documentary 'Broken Beat - A History' Made back in 2008, this is a fascinating window into UK underground history and culture at what is already a very different time, focusing in one of the UK's true underground sounds. After that we're going to share some music: Everyone is welcome to bring some tunes down, for this session to follow the film, the theme is centred around broken beat, but any tunes on the jazz & soul spectrum are welcome. It could be something you've made yourself, it could be your all time favourite tune, it could be a mad oddity that you just never hear anyone play. Doesn't matter if you're a DJ or not, if you feel at all apprehensive about using the decks, dw we'll give you a hand :) Everyone is welcome to contribute, but there's no obligation to bring music, of course! Your listening ears are enough :)

Entry requirements: 16+, any under 18s accompanied by 21+ adult 1:1 ratio
