HANGAR 161 & 0161 FESTIVAL present… MOSCOW DEATH BRIGADE + SPANNER + NO PULSE

MOSCOW DEATH BRIGADE – Moscow Death Brigade is a circle-pit hip-hop phenomenon from Russia. Influenced by Drum’n’Bass, Dancehall, Techno and Grime, energized by a Hardcore-Punk attitude and layered with machine-gun Rap flow, the crew lyrically explore topical political and social issues. The result is a genre and scene-spanning explosive musical statement that speaks out against racism, fascism, sexism and bigotry and for rebellion, subversion, respect and unity.

Moscow Death Brigade has become one of the most active Russian antifascist bands, opposing all kinds of discrimination and fascism, organizing and taking part in benefit events and spreading the message of unity. From punx, skinheads and metalheads, to hip hop kids and graffiti artists, the crowd will be diverse, demonstrating that all of us are the parts of the same worldwide underground movement, based on friendship, mutual support and freedom.

After smashing it on Hangar 161 at Boomtown Fair this summer, Moscow Death Brigade are back for their first UK and Ireland tour.

SPANNER – Hailing from Easton, Spanner has been mixing politics and pleasure since around 2000, and they aim to still be at it when it's time for dancing on the ruins of the empire. Their sound is a small contribution to the soundtrack to revolution and they hope to inspire both much dancing and more direct action.

Playing militant, ska'd up punk that's not just for entertaining "alternative" consumers or being part of the illusion of rebellion, the band want punk and punks to be part of a community in opposition and resistance to this murderous system which leaves everything it touches damaged or dead. They love meeting DIY bands, gig collectives, subverters, squatters, rebels, resisters, renegades, revolutionaries and fellow trouble makers from all over, reminding us that we are everywhere!!!
