Hip hop artists Dr Syntax and Pete Cannon have been touring as an MC and DJ duo since 2010.
Both reputed solo artists in their own right, their music and live shows combine witty lyricism, gob-smackingly banging beats and general tomfoolery to great effect.
Having released music separately for over a decade, in 2014 they released their debut collaborative album, 'Killer Combo!' on their own'Tactical Thinking' imprint. The album featured guests Del The Funky Homosapien (Gorillaz/Deltron 3030), Dirty Dike (High Focus), Lunar C, Jehst (YNR/Lowlife), Eva Lazarus and Jman.
They then formed a 4-piece live band with Manchester musicians Adisa Allen (drums) and Matt Wilmot (keys), and embarked on an extensive UK tour. While the duo was already a well-known and popular act on the British hip hop scene, the band has gone down a storm with fans new and old, adding a fresh dynamic to the established show.
In September 2015, The duo will release their second album, 'Elaborate Anoraks', through Leicester's Kompyla Records imprint. The album features Bristol hip hop luminaries Upfront and Res One of Split Profits, as well as Slamboree and Red Eye Hi Fi frontwoman Kathika. Their band, now a 5-piece with James Defty on bass, will embark on a UK tour from September.
