An event held at The Full Moon & Attic Bar on Tuesday 13th October. The event starts at 19:00.
Get Crafty at The Full Moon pub with our weekly drop-in workshops.
Through October we’re hosting a special halloween series ‘Witchy Workshops’ every Tuesday!
Let’s look back to the history and heritage of witches and the horrors that come with it. This week you'll be guided through sewing a witchy familiar plushie.
You’ll take inspiration from the small shapeshifting creatures called familiars that became a representation of a ‘witch’ in the 17th century. These included things like black cats, houseflies, toads, spiders and demons. The creatures showed association with the devil and were used as evidence in witchcraft trials.
You’ll have the opportunity to experiment with a variety of materials using hand and machine stitching methods. We’ll focus on layering through applique and embroidery processes.
This is a relaxed environment for all abilities, with a focus on meeting fellow crafters and learning some new tricks.
We want to make these sessions available to all, so we’re offering 2 tickets for £15 or individual tickets are £10. This covers the costs of all materials and tuition for the 2 hours.
New offer: Block of 6 sessions for £50. If you are interested please contact us on our instagram account @getcrafty001 or speak to us on the day.
When? Tuesdays 7pm till 9pm.
Where? The raised seated section at the front of the pub.
Arrive 5 minutes early to get settled and grab a drink from the bar.
(We also accept cash on the day, but please try to book ahead to avoid disappointment because of limited spaces).
