see event details

A gig held at The Full Moon & Attic Bar on Wednesday 20th September. The event starts at 19:30pm.

We've teamed up with the Colston Hall to present to you one of the most out-there Colombian bands of recent years; Meridian Brothers. As lovers of cumbia and psychedelic music, this group have been firm favourites of WDC for several years now and it is with great pleasure that we are able to play a role in bringing them to Bristol. For those who don't know read on!!!

"Meridian Brothers is tropical / psychedelic group from Colombia. Created in Bogotá in 1998 and based on the musical interests of composer Eblis Alvarez, the project first focused exclusively on cassette recordings and experimentation with alternative ways of playing instruments and electronic media heavily influenced by psychedelic Latin rock of Argentina.

The band’s sound is almost unclassifiable, a bracing meld of electronic and organic instruments, influenced by Latin rock, psychedelia, Frank Zappa, the Residents and South American and Caribbean folk traditions and rhythms. After releasing five albums over seven years touring festivals in Latin-America, United States and Europe the outfit are fast developing a reputation as the genius prophets of Colombian weirdness."

Worm Disco Club DJ's playing support before and after the band, get down early and enjoy the madness!!!! What a wednesday night treat.
