Steve Mathers Quartet at The Be-bop Club
£9.00

A gig held at The Be-Bop Club on Friday 11th January. The event starts at 20:30.

Integrating modern jazz into the commercial world, Steve brings a unique and diverse approach to music. As a professional saxophonist he has toured across Europe and the UK with various bands, solo artists and as a soloist. His new quartet includes highly rated guitarist Martin Kolarides who is currently living near Frome. Martin has played on two Top 20 albums and performs internationally with English close harmony vocal trio The Puppini Sisters. He has also recently completed a European tour with US singer and Snarky Puppy guest vocalist Shayna Steele. The band is completed by John-Paul Gard on Hammond organ [with pedals], and Billy Weir on drums [from John Law’s Recreations band]. Performing “The Best of Blue Note Years” inspired by the sounds of Jimmy Smith and Stanley Turrentine, the band focus on big grooves with big sounds and big personalities. The is an evening you won’t want to miss. Steve Mathers - tenor sax, Martin Kolarides - guitar, John-Paul Gard - Hammond organ, Billy Weir - drums.
