Saxophonist Dan Newberry is still studying at the Royal Welsh College with tutors including Iain Ballamy, Geoff Simkins and Alex Merritt. Something of a Ballamy protégé, you may have seen photos of him and Iain sitting in on Art Themen's gig at the Fringe a couple of months back, tantamount to the Royal Seal of Approval. Despite his youthful appearance he has memorised an impressive library of tunes and has clearly studied the playing of the jazz greats with due diligence. Dan is joined by John-Paul Gard on piano [taking a break from lugging his Hammond organ around], Riaan Vosloo - double bass, and Andy Hague - drums.
