Furlined at The Bristol Fringe
Free Entry

A gig held at The Bristol Fringe on Thursday 11th September. The event starts at 20:30.

Infectious hooks, rich vocals and lush, swooning cello are the defining features of Furlined, a Bristol-based band formed in 2012 by singer-songwriter Neil Crossley and cellist Tegan Everett. The band’s sound spans alt country and wry English chamber pop – “Morrissey meets Americana” as one review put it – and they have been likened to Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds, Richard Hawley and Orange Juice.

Furlined have attracted acclaim in publications such as Mojo, Clash Magazine, RnR and Billboard. “Songwriter Neil Crossley has one of those winning, strong yet gentle Jackie Leven / Richard Hawley baritones that do male vulnerability beautifully,” concluded Mojo in a 4/5 review of the band’s second album Win A Dream Wedding. “Furlined’s other striking sound is Tegan Everett’s cello, which intros most of Crossley’s dark-honey melodies… A band with distinct aural charms.”
