Fake Scenario is a primarily musical project powered by (Myself) Kende Sarlos, that emerged out of the post-COVID, new wave jazz and avant-garde scenes of Leeds. Blending jazz improvisation with global influences, each composition offers a personal reflection—capturing emotional states, ideas, and lived experiences.
The ‘first Fake Scenario’ began during my time at Leeds Conservatoire, arranging for a sextet of close musical collaborators. the project has evolved to explore different settings, and potential collaborations with other mediums in the future. The current lineup features Tim Funnel (keys) and Stephen Fry (drums) Greg Sterland (Saxophone) Alfie Grieve (Trumpet) Gabor Sarlos(Bass). These are some phenomenal Bristol based musicians, and I feel honoured to be playing with them on the night.
At its core, Fake Scenario is also a meta-commentary on the widening gap between artistic ambition and the demands of the market. It stands as a celebration of the irrational, deeply human drive for creative fulfilment in the face of uncertainty and constraint.
