Formed in 2025 by singer-songwriter Yiran Liu, Hazed Date is a Bristol-based five-piece emerging from the city’s vibrant Queer POC community. Their sound is a compelling blend of heavy, distorted textures and delicate indie-rock lyricism, exploring themes of sapphic yearning and the search for sanctuary.

ABOUT YIRAN

As a first-generation immigrant and queer woman, Yiran draws on the complexities of identity and belonging, while the band’s diverse musical influences shape Hazed Date’s rich, versatile sound. Expect a set that balances the romantic pull of small-town life with the raw energy of modern grunge.

Blending shoegaze and grunge Indie Rock textures with the delicate lyricism of Yiran’s indie-folk roots, the band came together through Bristol’s vibrant Queer POC community. Their music explores sapphic yearning, the romantic pull of small-town life, and the search for sanctuary in turbulent times.
