With their ever-mutating blend of jazz- and country-laced punk, Opus Kink have carved out a singular space in a crowded landscape. Formed in Brighton in 2017, they built a cult following through incendiary live shows and a sound defined by jagged horns, sardonic delivery and a collage of influences spanning post-punk, no wave, folk, Latin and cabaret. Their songs explore violence, desire, anxiety and absurdity, creating a strange, immersive world for their audience.

Touring relentlessly across the UK and Europe, they’ve gained a reputation for chaotic, boundary-pushing performances and deep ties to the DIY underground. In 2024, they recorded I Wanna Live With You with Dani Bennett-Spragg, leading to sessions with producer Craig Silvey and the creation of their debut album The Sweet Goodbye — a bold, unpredictable record that captures the band’s raw intensity and defiant spirit as they move into a new era.
