The Balkan Wanderers at The Canteen
See event details

A gig held at The Canteen on Saturday 18th April. The event starts at 22:00.

The Balkan Wanderers are a 6-piece band from Oxford. We formed in 2014 inspired by Balkan and related artists

(e.g. Šaban Bajramović / Barcelona Gipsy balKan Orchestra, Goran Bregović, Xazzar), and Balkan-world punk/ska

pioneers (Mano Negra/ Golem/ Gogol Bordello/ Dubioza kolektiv). We create original East-meets-West songs,

often containing a mixture of languages and styles, and perform traditional Eastern-European folk songs in our own

unique style. We reformed in 2022 following a hiatus since 2018, featuring a mix of original and new members

Lineup: Rebecca Kuziara (vocals) Stuart Wigby (guitar/vocals), Clare Heaviside (clarinet/tenor saxophone), Lisa

Harker (accordion/backing vocals), Chris Bayne (guitar/backing vocals), Adrian Sell (drums).
