Ye Woodbeast at The Canteen
Headfirst Editor's Pick

"Free entry! Queasy freak folk gospel from Sheffield’s most bizarre offering to the outside world so far. Ye Woodbeast are gonna twang and weeze their way into your godless hearts, tackling series Biblical themes with a skewed punkish wink to the man upstairs. Time to get believin, all ye disciples of: Akron/Family, Country Teasers, The Mekons, Sun City Girls, Connan Mockasin."

Ye Woodbeast are a DIY five-headed, queasy listening band based in Sheffield, incorporating electronic rhythms with live percussion, guitars and synths. They have released a 10inch lathe cut with Do It Thissen Records and split release lathe cut with Dead Music Club, in addition to a number of self-released digital albums and EPs.

With radio plays on BBC 6 Music and Worldwide FM, and a couple of tours under their belt, they have been described as “a cross between Pixies and Ezra Furman, if said cross was then dipped in a bath of Ennio Morricone compositions and then used as an Ari Aster film score.”
