See event details

A gig held at The Canteen on Thursday 31st July. The event starts at 21:30.

Free entry!

Some Canteen goers may remember trumpeter Andy Hague’s band Conjunto Gringo who played regularly up to 2018. After a bit of a break Andy is back with the new slightly smaller line-up Sexteto Gringo to play a mixture of Latin-jazz and salsa.

The band features some of Bristol’s best jazz players and familiar faces from Bristol’s Latin scene, pianist Jim Blomfield and percussionist Lisa Cherian, who play for the Latin jams and bands such as Dockside Latin Orchestra, Bristol Salsa Orchestra and Buena Bristol Social Club.

Sexteto Gringo’s new EP has received repeat plays on JazzFM and will be available to purchase at the gig.

Andy Hague – trumpet, Ben Waghorn – tenor sax, Jim Blomfield – piano, Chris Jones – bass, Mark Whitlam – drums, Lisa Cherian – congas.

Entry requirements: 18+
