Shayler & Brooke
A gig held at The Canteen on Wednesday 10th November. The event starts at 22:00.
Free entry!
Combining heartfelt and intelligent storytelling with close harmonies, finger-picked guitar and clawhammer banjo, Shayler & Brooke make contemporary folk music that draws on traditions from both sides of the Atlantic.
Writing in response to personal losses, family history and political troubles, they have captivated audiences with their raw vulnerability, humour and warmth. Bristol-based Shayler & Brooke comprise of Londoner Kate Shayler (vocals and banjo) and Dorset-born Chris Brooke (vocals and guitar).
“High class harmony vocals and great guitar and banjo playing” – Philip Thomas, Spiral Earth
