Ali Rice / Digsby at Crofters Rights

A gig held at The Croft on Sunday 23rd April. The event starts at 19:00.

Ali Rice

Bristol based Ali Rice has spent countless hours developing his craft and identifying his sound as an artist, attracting attention and praise from BBC Introducing and BBC Radio as well as many local musicians. Uploading original songs to Soundcloud since his teens, Ali's inspirations come from far and wide, but it’s names such as Sam Fender, Kings of Leon, The War On Drugs and U2 that have proven to be the most recently significant in Ali's style.

Ali's songs depict a storyline narrated by captivating and poetic lyrics, whilst being illustrated by his experiences of the world and its encounters. Expressing themes such as social constructions, love, happiness and common struggles, there is genuine honesty and empathy from within Ali’s delivery, all tied up with a ribbon of panoptic guitars and melodic instrumentation.

Digsby

Digsby play melodic indie rock with shades of alt country, sprinkled with woozy harmonies. The band was named after a character lead singer Joe Webb portrayed in a towering and definitive performance in a primary school production, playing the part of Petherick Digsby ('actually quite tolerable, Mr Johns).

Digsby's debut EP, 'Started' was released in February 2019, songs from the EP have been played on BBC Introducing West, and had lead single, Doubling Down, chosen by Fresh on the Net (run by 6 Music's Tom Robinson) as one of their top tracks of the week.

The band have been busy recording and will be releasing new music throughout 2023.
