Powerful Tyneside bassist John Pope (Archipelago etc) and virtuoso violinist John Garner bring their no holds barred music-making to the Crofter’s Rights. They celebrate the release of their new album ‘Water Music’ (coming out on New Jazz and Improvised Music Recordings), which pays tribute to the pioneering ‘new thing’ artists of the sixties and beyond, including Ornette Coleman, Alice Coltrane, Anthony Braxton, Jeanne Lee and Misha Mengelberg.
