Stop Making Sense at The Cube
Headfirst Editor's Pick

"'Hi, I've got a tape I want to play'. And so beginneth the greatest concert film of all time in the most eccentric Byrne-y, big-suited, lamp-shaded fashion. Don't hang around - this one's a sell out."

A event held at The Cube on Friday 20th October. The event starts at 20:00.

Dir: Jonathan Demme, 1984, USA, 88 mins, Cert PG.

It's time to dust of your big suit, strap on your dancing shoes and get yourself down to the Cube for an evening of New Wave fun with the greatest concert film ever made!

Filmed in LA over four nights in December 1983, Stop Making Sense captures the band Talking Heads at the peak of their powers. Featuring a slew of their greatest hits delivered with trademark jittery idiosyncracy, Demme's landmark film is packed to the gills with memorable moments and iconic performances.

After the film, the Cube bar will be serving up drinks and new wave classics until midnight, so stick around for a bit of a pogo. Cube must be the place!

Also we have a nanoplex family friendly screening (with suit making workshop) on Saturday 21st at 2pm bit.ly/cubesuits (film from 3pm)
and a watch with baby screening on Monday 23rd at 11 am (tickets only on the door)
And we are screening David Byrne's True Stories in November
