Stand Up + Tremors at The Cube
£5 adv/£7 doors

A event held at The Cube on Saturday 20th June. The event starts at 20:00.

Kevin Bacon, Fred Ward and Finn Carter star in this cult 1990 comedy sci-fi monster Western. We follow the besieged folk of Perfection, Nevada as they fight back against the strange creatures attacking them from beneath the ground, led by good time boys Val (Bacon) and Earl (Ward), ably assisted by seismologist Rhonda (Carter). With only two internal sets, Tremors is both a glorious paean to the great American desert and a cautionary tale in the post-fracking world.

Don your finest redneck couture as we take aim at Perfection.

Preceded by live stand up from this outstanding bunch:

Joe Sutherland: Aloof, sharply dressed and armed with a wit to match. Since he last graced our stage, Joe has been a finalist in both the NATYs and Leicester Square New Comedian Awards, and has recently been selected for the Pleasance Comedy Reserve showcase at the 2015 Edinburgh Fringe. "Instant stage presence" - Bruce Dessau

Phil Jerrod: A gleeful performer, Phil's smart observational comedy has already brought him the coveted award for Best Debut Show at this year's Leicester Comedy Festival and we expect him to achieve similar plaudits when he reaches Edinburgh this summer. He also looks a bit like Macon Blair in Blue Ruin but don't tell him we said that - it's not the beard we promise, it's the eyes! One of our absolute faves. 'Such a brilliant set well observed, well written and funny obvs!' - Josie Long

Jenny Collier: It's been a great 12 months since Jenny was last with us. But enough about us - she's not had a bad time either, winning the Laughing Horse New Act competition, earning rave reviews for her debut Edinburgh show and going on to perform at the Adelaide, Melbourne and Hong Kong comedy festivals.

Phil Cooper: Expect surreal observations with an eye for detail and an easy-going delivery from one our favourite new acts on the local scene. Phil will charm and amuse you in equal measure.

Luke Sargeant: Bristol's largest baby; the bear with no hair. Always a warm and friendly presence from this local boy and occasional prop comic. "He'll turn to his mate and say, 'That bit didn't work did it?' But his mate's not there and he's wearing a fez. " - Chaplin Moustache

Anna Dominey: Performer, writer and recent Oxford grad Anna brings tales from her own life to the Cube for the first time.
