The Cult of MHHA at The Cube

A event held at The Cube on Saturday 25th July. The event starts at 17:30.

In the beginning of running MHHA, I didn't want to be like other nights. I wanted there to be weird little intervals in between reputable DJs. Then, once, I paid a visit to the Cube on Stokes Croft and, as I sat pondering these really cool live AV sets, I thought: what if we fucked off the DJs for a special night and just did the weird shit?

Would people come? Would it still remain relevant in the current dying clubland landscape? Maybe we could create something new, something more fun and less serious. Something where you could sit down. Something that had intervals and cigarette breaks. Something that finished before midnight.

Well, I present to you: the Cult of MHHA — the hopefully annual (if Cube ever lets us back) performance and comedy freak show. A mix of the weirdest people I know and can find. A bloodbath to the modern concept of clubbing. A nod to the absurd. Something that challenges ideas, expectations, and attention spans.

An evening of beautiful nonsense, accidental genius, planned disasters, uncomfortable laughter, strange noises, questionable decisions, and moments that probably shouldn't work but somehow do. No dancefloor obligations. No serious music. No pressure to stay out until 4am.

Just a room full of curious people watching things unfold in real time, wondering what the fuck is going to happen next.

And last but not least: NO CLOWNS.

So join us, one and all, for the first night I've done in Bristol in three years. Join us for an experiment. Join us for a celebration of the strange. Join us for the future.

This is the smallest-capacity venue we've ever done—only 100 tickets—so please don't wait around.
