THE RETURN OF : Absurdist A/V Jumble Sail, an atypical happening experience at The Cube

A clubnight held at The Cube on Saturday 26th September. The event starts at 20:00.

Now something of a Bristol / Cube institution, the Jumble Sail is relaunched this Autumn under the light of the Harvest Moon, welcoming all new sailors aboard!

What is this!!??

It is more some sort of absurdist AV lounge than a gig - there is a confusingly cheap door price, along with the typically cheap Cube bar.

For this relaunch we are proud to have Steve Davies  (6 Times World Snooker Champion / Utopia Strong ) on board manipulating the modular with sound and film artist Matt Davis (BEEF) feeding into the cinema's 5.1 surround sound to accompany visual artists mr_hopkinson (BEEF / Minto / Solid Steel / Essenhaitch / mr_hopkinson's computer owner) and Paul Hanson (One Song Karaoke / Artwank / hendø audiovideo solutions) presenting their ever expanding collection of odd instructional & educational DVDs & the like salvaged, wronged, steered & veered in a strange trip through physical media’s flotsam & jetsam, mixed & re-fixed live on ancient VJ equipment in the cinema to make an experience unlike any other, with spontaneous crowd interactions and internet-less instant meme manifestation. It's a little bit magic, and a lot hard to describe without being there.

Intermission act from Simon ( a.k.a Sam Langley / Fuggcast / Dagger Brothers / Eftus Spectrun )

Elsewhere in the microplex, lounge and toilet installations and performances from the likes of Matt Olden ( Speed Archer / i am the mighty jungulator / Tapsew ) and don't forget the the snacks from Snoozie (BEEF / Nils Complete) AND the newly minted Jumblist Movement t-shirt in a range of colour ways to boot!!

this is a JUMBLE SAIL not a JUMLE SALE, but there will be washed up Vinyl for the picking at a pound a pop

Odd sounds and sites in the bar and other Cube environs too, wonking what could be considered "DJs" with residents Cord of The Cob, and mr_stoloff  (Oil Experts / Stoloff & Hopkinson™) and a set from Marcus Campbell a.k.a Baron Marcus Darcus Acid Bleep Disco (Bleep Klub)

Warm welcoming and weird, an odd and financially accessible soothing balm (or enlivening irritant) made with the curious in mind for these otherwise wearisome times

* this is not a jumble sale. Though there may be things to buy. It's more of an experimental happening lounge video club night with an affordable bar til late. Scratch Video + for the 21st Century. Ask friends for details.
