La Lune are a newly-formed, Bristol based band made up of four members. Since forming six months ago, they have been busy in a garage making Indie-inspired music. With Morgan the rhythm guitar/bass player and Elia the lead singer co-writing songs; La Lune creates a perfect cross dynamic with Morgan’s lyrics highly influenced by shoegaze and Elias soft-rock stylistic vocal choices appearing through the melodies. The songs always include Byron - the lead guitarist’s - smooth yet spindly melodic solos fitting perfectly with Morgan’s dreamy chord sequences. Drummer Calum successfully compliments the sound by intensifying the juxtaposition in the songs that start slow and tightly switch to a lively, pacey chorus.
With the band forming during the pandemic there were difficulties and setbacks with rehearsals especially in the winter lockdown. Rather than postponing everything, they kept busy – using this time to write and compose songs for the upcoming album. “If we hadn’t had those months out of the shed and in our rooms, we wouldn’t have most of our songs. I think lockdown makes you reflect on everything and sometimes those thoughts need to go somewhere. We are just lucky that we could use them as material for our music.”
The band has released two demos on SoundCloud and the he band's main focus now is to start recording the album in the hope of releasing in time for summer, and beginning to gig and perform whenever the chance arises. This is one of them chances!
