"Avant-garde luminary and Xiu Xiu member Hyunhye Seo deals a disarming blow of hushed drone, spectral electro-acoustics and neo-classical unravellings. From exploring Sargassoan eel spawning to spatial dialogues, her compositions are profound experimental noise excavations accompanied by spellbinding displays of improv piano prowess. Unmissable FFO: Annea Lockwood, Kali Malone, Thomas Köner."

Enter The Noid & Terror Management Presents: Hyunhye Seo + Matthew Grigg & Saltings + Prior live @ Cube Microplex
Hyunhye (Angela) Seo is an artist exploring experimental composition and expression of sound, creating deep, turbulent soundscapes through ecstatic piano improvisations, dynamic percussion, and cavernous acoustic treatments. Her live performances are uncompromising in their open and immediate exploration of sound, pulling from experimental noise, modern classical, avant-garde jazz, and ambient territories.
As an active member of the musical group Xiu Xiu, she has gained international recognition for experimental and avant-garde musical composition and performances.
Her latest release, Continuation (December 2025), is a cascading piano improvisation - music as surrender, dialogue between performer, space and the present moment, released by cult label Ubi Kū. On Side B, Japanese avant-garde pioneer Phew reinterprets Seo's performance into a new electronic landscape.
Support on the night comes from the improvised music duo of guitarist Matthew Grigg and electronic musician SALTINGS. A duo in which pastoral, horror sound design accompanies intricate signal noise & feedback; resulting in both minimal and ferocious scenes of atmosphere and texture. 2020's 'Sugar Skull' is a blistering yet subtle venture into the duo's improvised audio-world of 'controlled darkness, eerie tranquillity, fragile beauty and gnarled anger' whereby 'black horizons are full of whispering, half-dreamed creatures...'
Completing this triple bill of improvised and experimental live music is Prior, whose work explores a contorted and unique vision of the human condition via a decaying ambience of 'wet, broken and darkened spaces' in which 'disturbed narratives lead from room to room' and 'nothing is static'. Elements, permeate liminal voids and resist blissfully in the face of one another. Resulting in an immersive and fractured climate of tentative, sonic mutation.
