"Missed connections and slapstick misunderstandings abound across this meandering French cult curio. Maine-Ocean Express follows a host of strangers on a train journey packed to the rafters with opportunists, eccentrics, and exhausted workers, capturing the strange intimacy of travel with gorgeous documentary-style looseness. A truly underrated post-Nouvelle Vague gem!"

What do a lawyer, a Brazilian dancer, two ticket inspectors and a fast talking sailor have in common?
Not much as it turns out but that doesn't stop them from having an adventure together in Jacques Rozier's charmingly zany comedy about communicative mishaps. Rozier's keen eye for behaviour and feeling for spontaneity leads us down many winding paths travelled using several different modes of transport with a slew of a surprises along the way. Yves Afonso (he looks like Belmondo but he isn't) gives a virtuoso motor-mouth performance as Marcel Petitgas, the camera is wielded by the severely underrated Acácio de Almeida. Come along with Rozier and his ragtag crew!
Doors open 30 minutes before advertised start time. All film screenings are ad-free and 18+ unless otherwise stated, and start with no more than a 10 min selection of trailers.
