BODIES ON THE BEACH - THE LAST BATTLES OF FIONN MacCUMHAILL at The Cube
Headfirst Editor's Pick

"Sell out warning! The final battle of Fionn MacCumhaill refuses to stay buried as Bodies on the Beach returns to Bristol following December’s sold-out show. Storytellers Ben Haggarty and Steph Brittain sift through medieval fragments, song and myth to rebuild a lost Celtic epic. Kinda like The Iliad but Irish (and with a suspiciously magical pig)."

The Crick Crack Club presents
THE BODIES ON THE BEACH - The Last Battles of Fionn MacCumhaill
Performance storytelling by Ben Haggarty & Steph Brittain

A fatherless son
A daughter’s lament
A pig stolen from its spit
Fires burning out at sea
And a dream

On the westernmost tip of Ireland, a beach of crystal white sand once ran crimson with the blood of a never-ending magical battle — the last battle fought by the epic hero, Fionn MacCumhaill.

Step into a maelstrom of myth, as storytellers Ben Haggarty and Steph Brittain pick through fragments of voices, medieval manuscript, and song to piece together a story of love, loss and destiny – a Celtic Iliad.

Raw, lyrical, and unforgettable. This is not just a wild myth retold. It’s an exploration of what it means to live, to regret, to sacrifice, and to endure in a relentless world.
What will survive the tide?
