Fairytales for grown-ups - GANGA - RIVER OF LIFE at The Cube
£20 per pair of tickets

A event held at The Cube on Thursday 4th November. The event starts at 19:30.

PERFORMANCE STORYTELLING by EMILY HENNESSEY
MUSIC by SHEEMA MUKHERJEE

A king with a growing family eyes up a Sky God’s palace. Eight bored brothers steal a holy cow. A woman journeys deep into the kingdom of death to demand the impossible. And a young girl staring at the fish of destiny, realises that she holds the end of one world and the beginning of the next in her hands...

When Ganga, the River Goddess, leaps from the skies, only the web of Shiva’s hair can arrest her wild flood...but still she roars, surging from mountains to sea, leaving no stone unturned, as she washes illusion from truth.

Storyteller Emily Hennessey and sitar player Sheema Mukherjee conjure a fast- flowing stream of cosmic creatures, celestial curses, wise women, and gods behaving badly in these Indian stories of liberation, transformation and love.
