"Welcome to Zamrock. Where W.I.T.C.H. (‘the Beatles of Zambia’) ruled their own garage-fuzz kingdom. AIDS wiped out all but frontman Jagari, until a dramatic resurrection and reformation saved him from a life of gemstone mining. 100% must-see / too-good-to-be-true affirmative music doc action!"

To many of us in the West the existence of a musical genre in Zambia that drew its inspiration from Black Sabbath  and Hendrix as well as James Brown and the indigenous sounds of afro- beat remains a sad fact despite the release of this film in 2019.

We Intend To Cause Havoc follows the formations of Zambia’s most popular rock band  in particular and 'Zam(bian)rock in general of the 1970s, WITCH, and documents the life of its lead singer, Jagari, whose name is an Africanisation of Mick Jagger’s. Through the resurrection of a music that was forgotten by many and unheard by most, the film explores the life of a former African rockstar, and the excitement around the rediscovery of his music by a new generation of Western fans.
