"Sell out warning! Time passes. Listen. The Cube’s projector is whirring, Richard Burton is purring with Dylan Thomas’ exquisite language in his mouth. A gallery of voices from Mrs. Ogmore-Pritchard to Willy Nilly to Captain Cat weave near-mythical incidentals of sex and death and dreams and chores and fish in the starless and bible-black auditorium. You are drifting away…. "

A
event
held at The Cube
on Wednesday 19th February. The event starts at 19:30.
Come and share an evening of warmth and closeness, enjoying 'Under Milk Wood', narrated by Richard Burton on the original recording, in the intimacy of the Cube auditorium.
There will be blankets, hot drinks, bring your knitting project if you like and enjoy an immersive ambience with atmospheric projections and incidental live music. Come and be part of the Under Milk Wood Community for a spell of cosy togetherness.
There is Captain Cat, the blind sailor who dreams of drowned comrades; Mr Pugh, fantasising about murdering Mrs Pugh; Organ Morgan, obsessed with his music; Polly Garter, pining for lovers; Nogood Boyo, the lazy fisherman...
"The entire thing is about religion, the idea of death and sex," said Richard Burton. 'Under Milk Wood is about people's everyday hopesand fears, but all underscored with a Welsh musicality and mournfulness. And a Welsh mischief! It is about Wales as much as it is about anything.'
