On a bare black floor, a map of Gaza is sketched in white paint, its cities, camps and neighbourhoods roughly outlined. Within it, nine people who escaped the devastation stand and tell their stories: a poet, a journalist, a young musician, an artist who lost his family, a teenager determined to become a medical researcher, a woman who ran a cancer support charity. Through memory, gesture and silence, Nicolas Wadimoff's documentary asks how survivors can reconnect with themselves, stop being ghosts, and perhaps come back to life.
