A
gig
held at Bristol Folk House
on Wednesday 1st October. The event starts at 20:00.
After a successful debut single release with Jelli Records, this evening at The Folk House brings the second release from the Bristol Artist. From London born roots with early involvement in the protest and punk scenes to living nomadically through Europe and playing through America, her material tells stories of rebellion, living on the road and life as a troubadour.
Rosemary draws on folk traditions, americana and spirituals from a place of early instinct matched with rich life experiences to create a sound unique yet familiar. Often described as ‘timeless’ she continues a Woody-Dylan chain, this time with a woman at the wheel.
With Guitar or Resonator, Harmonica or Washboard, and acapella vocals that range from gospel to folklore, Rosemary represents a nostalgic voice offering an alternative message for our current age. With a live track record that spans from festivals across the South-west to performing at Tin Pan South festival in Nashville.
Gaining momentum in her career whilst refusing to have a presence on social media as an act of protest, she proves how ready people are for change. The single 'Raise up your banner', a peace song, will be performed live on the night along with a full set of other original material. The single will be available to stream or purchase after the gig on release day, on all major music platforms.
