"Neo-classical adventurism from the brains behind the keys in Spindle Ensemble and Tezeta (as well as Cosmo Sheldrake and Alabaster dePlume). Inzani leads first his piano trio and then a 9 piece band with astonishing compositional breadth, from delicate chamber beauty to downtown cinematic drama and luscious cosmic exotica. A true wonder FFO: Keith Jarrett, Nils Frahm, Jóhann Jóhannsson, Einaudi."

DANIEL INZANI
Self-taught pianist and composer Daniel Inzani has been a pivotal figure on the Bristol alternative music scene for more than a decade. He leads a neoclassical chamber quartet Spindle Ensemble, co-curates Hidden Notes Festival in Stroud, and he’s worked with a baffling array of outfits, playing Ethiopian funk, Indonesian gamelan, rocksteady, 1950s-style exotica and post rock, as well as working closely with fellow maverick musicians Alabaster dePlume and Cosmo Sheldrake.
His assorted projects have led to a prolific discography, performances worldwide and a singular compositional voice; born from extensive experimentation with live ensembles and his idiosyncratic approach to music theory, informed by his studies of mathematics and passion for impressionist era music.
After two decades of recording, touring and composing as a collaborator and band leader, he gathered a trusted set of skilled improvisers and virtuoso players to record his first major solo release Selected Worlds, exploring the very different sides to his musical personality across 3 contrasting but connected vinyl LPs. The critically acclaimed triple album was co-released by Hidden Notes Records and Tardigrade Records in September 2024, receiving a 5 star review in The Guardian where it was listed as the contemporary album of the month.
“Selected Worlds is a groundbreaking debut triple album that boldly traverses an eclectic musical landscape, blending classical, jazz, contemporary, and avant-garde styles with unparalleled finesse” Classical Post
“Superbly composed and adroitly performed” Louder Than War
“As intimate as it all is truly cinematic, the scale and breadth are impressive; the performances as articulate and stirring as they are dramatic and full of descriptive scenes, thoughts, meditations and moods” Monolith Cocktail
“Effervescent music-making... rich and evocative” BBC Music Magazine
“A soundtrack to the imagination” Listening Post
