'We are the words; we are the music; we are the thing itself' - Virginia Woolf [A Sketch of the Past]
Virginia Woolf's extensive catalogue is held as a bastion of modernist writing, and a seminal influence on 'stream of consciousness' interior-monologue prose. She writes fearlessly; on confessionality, on curiosity, on wonder, on pain, on fragility, on boredom; all inked with power and grace.
So we ask: how would you translate Woolf's concepts, philosophy & truly unbounded emotional explorations into mirroring music?
Featuring the unparalleled harmonic talents of Tiny Chapter [Waldo's Gift], a live string quartet, improvised vocal choral and chant work, and the beat-driven body of Aellin's live band; double bass and drums, the scene is set to paint an auditory canvas of Woolf's writings.
For a writer whose courageous work has become the catalyst for so many writers and songwriters after her.
Join us for a musical exposition of Woolf's writings; the introspective and the vast; for moments of being.
