Sounds of Harlowe Formed in 2011. The alternative hip-hop collective blend elements of R&B, funk, soul and rock; resulting in their own signature brand of music. Combined with spontaneous, fiery live performances, Sounds Of Harlowe are not to be missed.

With headline shows across the south of the UK, gigs at legendary venues like the London Jazz Café, performances on the festival circuit such as Bestival, Boomtown and Nozstock to name but a few; SOH has been building a solid underground fan base since they began gigging in earnest in 2013. This year they expanded their stage pedigree to other major festivals, including the legendary Isle Of Wight Festival, as well as pushing to European venues and festivals, such as Soundwave Croatia. After spending their time grinding away in the UK gig scene, the band has been spending its time writing and recording new material. This long awaited debut EP dropped in a limited edition format in September, followed by their debut UK tour. Find the EP online after it's full release in November.

The Scribes debut, The Evolution EP, was released in 2005 on CD, Vinyl and iTunes through independent label Unsung Records, and the resulting tour saw them play Blade's album launch at Cargo in London, and headline events from The Metaponto Beach Festival in Italy to student unions and nightclubs across the UK.

The Scribes first full-length album, “The Sky is Falling”, was unleashed in 2009 to high praise from a variety of media, both local and national, including The Metro, BBC Radio, Music Week Magazine, 24-7 Magazine, Venue Magazine and Hip Hop Connection.

The album pushed the limits of hip hop to almost breaking point, both musically and lyrically, showcasing the group's trademark sound featuring traditional hip hop samplying as well as live instrumentation, a far cry from the stereotypical loop based “bling and gunz” fraternity.

The 14-track LP is available on I-Tunes, Play, Amazon and all major online outlets as well as retailers across the UK.

The group have performed extensively across the UK and beyond with artists such as GZA from Wu Tang Clan, Example, Plan B, Prof Green, Chipmunk, Tinie Tempah, Ugly Duckling, MF Doom, Pendulum, Magnetic Man, Westwood, Stereo MCs, Chase and Status, RA the Rugged Man, Macklemore, Dels, Estelle, Wiley, Roll Deep, Goldfinger, Foreign Beggars, Phi-Life Cypher, Skinnyman, Mr Thing, Ray Keith, Ed Case and MC Lars, and have provided original music for BBC and Channel 4 television programming.

2012 will see the release of “A Story All About How”, a sonically challenging 16 track album that thrives on a perfected blend of poignant lyricism bolstered beautifully by a backdrop of constantly evolving instrumentation.

Their newest material promises to be a defining release for The Scribes and the face of UK hip hop, having already been well received from Camden's prestigious Jazz Cafe to the group's stand-out performances at Glastonbury Festival and Beach Break, earning the group a mention in NME's “Glastonbury Guide” and Venue Magazine's “30 best live shows at Glastonbury”.

The Scribes are one of the most talented up and coming artists on the scene and are hotly tipped to “step up to the big league at any time”, their genuinely unique sound is something you really have to hear for yourself, with appeal ranging far beyond the traditional hip hop fare, and is backed up by live performances proven to move any crowd.

Be sure to check out the group live whenever possible as it's guaranteed to be a massive performance the likes of which you've never seen before, featuring the most phenomenal freestyling in the uk and more energy than's sensible!
