Dryadic + Lyle - Permission To Speak Tour at The Golden Lion
Free Entry (Yey!) with donation on the door encouraged

A gig held at The Golden Lion on Friday 27th February. The event starts at 20:30.

Queer, alt-folk agitators, Dryadic deliver an intelligent, feminist blend of rootsy folk with a melodic pop flair, peppered with heart soaring vocals, and vibrant fiddle licks. Dryadic's distinctive sound and connected live show command the audience with tenacious singalong hooks delivered straight from the heart, backed by epic layered harmonies, raw energy, emotion and charisma. Feel-good, rousing rhythms underpin candid, humorous lyrics. Expect foot-stomping feminist protest songs and travelling folk tales, to dreamy epic ballads with five string fiddle and double bass do-si-do in the audience. Dryadic's new album "Permission to Speak” is released this coming February 20th, with a UK tour to accompany. "An amazing dynamic folk band, bringing feminine protest through the dreamier side of music…” BBC INTRODUCING “Unapologetically queer and funny, a in-your-face but poignant takedown of those dreaded unsolicited opinions that are frequently hoisted upon us.” Loud Women "Beautiful, haunting, fragile and very powerful” Earmilk “Ageless, as if Joan Baez suddenly plugged in and had tea with Florence Welch and sparked a revolution.” Lost In The Manor Magazine "Grace Petrie meets Flight of the Conchords. Think fiddle-fueled feminist fury meets cabaret chaos meets danceable rage therapy" Odyssey Magazine Plus Support from Lyle! (solo) Multi-instrumentalist producer Lyle Anderton wears their heart on their. A member of Bristol's contemporary Jazz scene, their music is Queer-centred, humorous, surreal and looks to combine UK Jazz,West-coast soul, and latin and african rhythms. Often heralded as a complimentary sonic accompaniment for fans of Jacob Collier, Thundercat, David Bowie. This unapologetically neon, make-up wearing producer imagines a world when the Bee Gees were lo-fi hip-hop, or if Stevie Wonder had written the Mario theme.
