BRAMWELL
GREY MUZZLE <3 BRAMWELL IDST!
Since their inception in 2021, Bramwell have been confusing crowds both north and south of Exeter with their blend of two different musical worlds.
One side of the group focuses on primitive rhythms, deranged, humorous and often cryptic lyrics, with guitar riffs that sound like a ghostly buzzsaw.
The other delves into hook-laden, infectious power pop, lyrically covering the blurred lines between what’s weird and normal in the ‘everyday’, influenced by Big Star and the classic indie rock of Guided by Voices in equal measures.
Bramwell puts the crowd and listener through a tough, emotional but hypnotic journey. This feeling of confusion soon subsides, followed by understandable pangs of anger, but finally you accept, and understand what Bramwell does. Ultimately, the maelstrom of weird post-punk and jangly pop tests your endurance and turns this state of confusion into a feeling of cathartic ecstasy.
“A glorious assault upon your aural senses.” - JanglePopHub
“Bands this good don’t come along very often. Miss Bramwell at your peril” – Joyzine.
MODERN LITERATURE
Inspired by the concrete jungle of their decaying Brutalist surroundings, Birmingham's Modern Literature carve out their own distinct brand of 21st century sonic Miserablism.
Driving grooves, swirling atmospherics and jagged guitars weave a musical tapestry, punctuated by scalpel sharp lyricism torn from the hard reflections of today's society.
