Conscious Sounds Presents- Holy Reptile
A gig held at The Golden Lion on Thursday 7th April. The event starts at 20:00.
Conscious Sounds are Happy to announce this months event at the Golden Lion. Come on down to see Headliners Holy reptile and supports from Lessens and Butterjunk.
Lessens- A Bristol-based three-piece formed in 2019, Lessens’ ethos of reverb-drenched reductivism serves up brooding quiet and haunting melancholy. Spacious textures traverse the gamut from sombre to seismic, with sporadic eruptions of vitriol and almost accidental happiness. This ethos is inspired not just by the ceaseless noise of modern life, but by the tension between beauty, fragility and anxiety. It’s about clarity, simplification and sparsity. What emerges from that framework falls somewhere between post-punk and post-rock.
ButterJunk- Butterjunk are a 4 piece alt/dream rock band who met in Newcastle, who are now based in Bristol. The band have been praised for their dream pop riffs and ethereal tones, explored deeper in their most recent EP, Normalised - featuring on BBC introducing, BBC Bristol and BBC Radio 6.
Holy Reptile- Holy Reptile are a three-piece band from Bristol playing a breed of gloomy psyche rock. Combining blistering walls of guitar with brooding bass lines that contrast with subdued sections the songs explore a variety of emotional states. The band have played gigs with great company such as bdrmm, Avalanche Party and The Howlers.
