Originally called The Kesey Experiment, The Mysterious Calculators were formed after supporting The Pastels at The Thekla, Bristol in 2010.
Their ever evolving sound has been described as"Lo-fi Alt Country" and"Experimental Folk Pop", drawing comparisons with Aberfeldy, Tallest Man on Earth and Mercury Rev.
Vincent Callan's adenoidal vocals are often reminiscent of Billy Corgan or Neil Young while native Bristolian, Sarah, provides balance with full, rich harmonies and warm, southwesterly charms.
All this is tied to together by Marting Corfield's punk imbibed yet sympathetic bass lines to create a light hearted, playful sound that belies the true nature of the bands lyrics.
