A
gig
on Friday 13th February. The event starts at 20:00.
Ceilidhs at The Greenbank are joyful, high-energy community dances led by musicians from the Bristol folk scene and rooted in the spirit of our tunes session.
With live music from two seasoned ceilidh musicians and guest players from our Tuesday sessions, and all dances taught by an expert caller, these evenings are welcoming to absolute beginners and seasoned dancers alike. Come along to learn some brilliant dances, enjoy live folk music, and be part of a warm, supportive community where everyone’s encouraged to join in — whether you want to dance, play, or both.
The ceilidh dancing will take place upstairs at The Greenbank Pub, Easton, BS5 6DP. Doors open at 7:30. Dancing will begin at 8pm. There will be a break between sets of dances for refreshments and a cool-off outside if necessary. We ask that you bring sensible footwear for dancing and refrain from carrying drinks during the dances. All of the dances will be taught and led by our special guest caller Erin Mansfield.
The event runs closely alongside The Greenbank Tunes Session which takes place in the bar every first and third Tuesday of the month. We're encouraging musicians to join in - so if you fancy playing some tunes along with us as well as dancing then please arrive in plenty of time and make yourself known to the band!
£12 and £14 tickets are available in advance - tickets on the door will be £15. We strongly advise that you book in advance if you'd like to attend as we cannot guarantee there will be door tickets available if the event sells out.
Please tell your friends and share this event - live music and dancing only takes place with the support of the community around us.
