We welcome “Yetii” to The Greenbank for this very special gig featuring Mercury nominated trumpet player and composer, Laura Jurd.

Laura is one of the leading talents on the UK jazz scene. She leads Mercury-nominated band Dinosaur, has written music for the BBC Proms, National Youth Jazz Orchestra, and BBC Concert Orchestra. She is a BBC New Generation Artist, winner of a 2019 Ivor Composer Award, and recently released her 6th individual album “Rite and Revelations” to widespread critical acclaim. We are excited to welcome Laura to play with Yetii at The Greenbank for the first time!

Tickets are generally SOLD OUT for this night, and are expected to sell particularly fast for this one. It’s a beautiful venue, especially set up by candlelight for the evening, with great beers and delicious pizza.

ABOUT YETII
Yetii are an acoustic jazz trio playing original compositions and arrangements of popular tunes. The music combines flowing melodies with expansive group improvisations, interlocking grooves and evolving soundscapes. The band released their debut album in November 2022 to widespread critical acclaim and recently played a SOLD out gig at St. George’s concert hall in town to kick off 2025.

Alex Veitch (piano) has a current bimonthly residency at Ronnie Scott's and plays in Bristol with projects including Aziza Jaye, Amy True, Samantha Lindo, Family Business and Bristol Street Music. Ash (bass) is an award-winning virtuoso double bassist and composer and current lecturer at Cardiff University. Alex Goodyear (drums) is a recent graduate of jazz from Royal Welsh with sideman credits including John Law, Alex Meritt, and Victoria Klewin.
