Orfic at The Greenbank at The Greenbank Pub Easton
See event details

A gig on Thursday 9th September. The event starts at 19:30.

Orfic is a new, high energy project made up of musicians entrenched in the Bristol music
scene, featuring saxophonist Sophie Stockham (Dakhla Brass, Sefrial), trumpeter Pete
Judge (Get the Blessing, Three Cane Whale), drummer Matt Brown (Run Logan Run,
Dakhla Brass) and double bassist Chris Jones (We Are Leif, Andy Hague Quintet).
Each performance is a muddying of the boundaries between structure and freedom using
original compositions and some of the music of other key improvisers as a springboard from
which to explore and interact.

With a pinch of punk attitude, Orfic performs their own strong grooves and engaging
melodies as well as music from the likes of Johnny Dyani, Monk and Joshua Redman,
drawing from a myriad of genres and cultures and presenting them with clear and coherent
intent.
