on Sunday 19th January. The event starts at 18:30.
On Sunday, we welcome Andy Hague to The Greenbank for the second time! Over the past 25 years Andy Hague has become well known in Bristol both as a performer and as organiser of weekly jazz venue The Be-Bop Club. In 2016 he appeared as part of the Pee Wee Ellis and Fred Wesley Back To Jazz Big Band, performing at Bristol Jazz and Blues Festival and Ronnie Scott’s Club. 2017 saw repeat appearances at both venues as part of a big band backing USA trumpet legend Bobby Shew in a programme celebrating the centenary of Dizzy Gillespie’s birth. Andy is also well known as a jazz educator, having taught under the banner of Bristol Jazz Workshops for over a decade. This has led on to tutoring for several jazz summer schools and residential weekends, including CL Jazz, Music For You, Gloucester Academy of Music, Dartington and Falmouth-Yamaha.
He joins The Alex Veitch Trio. Alex moved to Bristol from London around two years ago; he studied at the Guildhall School and has since secured residencies at Ronnie Scott’s and played at other venues including The Vortex, Cafe Oto, and Pizza Express Soho. We welcome his trio on the first Thursday of each month and are excited to present this collaboration on Sunday. Chris Jones and Paolo Adomo complete the quartet.

Keep your eyes peeled: each month we'll have a new guest joining the rhythm section to round off the week
